Ramsey, 82, n. of 4213 Henry Wausau, died rriday, Nov. 21, 2003, in Palliative Care at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born Aug. 6, 1921, the son of George and June (Bevington) Ramsey in Lawton, Mich.

Richard married Jeanne Hill April 3, 1948, in Kalamazoo, Richard Ramsey Mich. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Richard worked as a salesman for Hillyard Chemical Co. He was Past Commander and current member of the American Legion Post No.

10. Richard was an avid golfer and Packer fan. He was a devoted family man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne of Wausau; daughters, Carol (Craig) Shirley of Shoreview, Sylvia A. Sylvia A.

Hooker, age 85, of Hillsboro, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at St. Joseph's Community Health Services in Hillsboro after a long illness. She was born June 4, 1918, in Hillsboro the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Shema) Sylvia Hooker Kouba. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1936 and then went on to earn her teaching certificate from the Vernon County Normal School.

After graduation, she taught in several rural schools in the area. On. Oct. 28, 1947, she married Elgin Hooker at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro.

Sylvia had been a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She dedicated her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother and home-maker for her family. When her health began to fail, her husband lovingly cared for her at her home until her death. Surviving are her husband, Elgin 1 Theodore Jess Kohl, 75, of Wausau, died Thursday, Oct.

30, 2003, at North Central Health Care after a prolonged illness with Parkinson's disease. He was born May 10, 1928, in Wausau, the son of the late Jesse and Theodore Estelle (Bessert) Kohl Kohl. On Sept. 9, 1950, he married Virginia Schlatterer of Mosinee. Ted attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later graduated from Milton College.

Ted was employed by the Marathon County Sheriff's Department from 1957 until his retirement as Chief Deputy in 1988. As a young boy, Ted was actively involved in Boy Scouts of America, and later went on to become a scout leader. He loved hunting and fishing and spent his happiest times at the family cottage in Harrison Hills with family and friends. During retirement he developed a particular interest in collecting antiques, attending numerous estate sales and auctions over the years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia of Wausau, and their four daughters, Alice Kohl Rhyner (Mike Rhyner) of Edward Edward C.

Carey, age 90, of Wausau, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau. He was born Aug. 31, 1913, the son of Frank and Anna Carey in Wisconsin Rapids. Edward married Mary Stieber on June 9, 1937, in Edward Carey Wausau.

She preceded him in death on March 15, 1988. He was remarried April 27, 1989, to Marjorie Hubateh in Wausau. Edward worked as a bookkeeper for Menzner Lumber Co. in Marathon and Lang's Pharmacy in Wausau until his retirement. He enjoyed playing in the dart ball league at St.

Michael's through the year 2002, enjoyed golfing and was an avid Packers fan. He will always be known for his wonderful sense of humor that stuck with him until his final moments. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of Wausau; one daughter, Kathy (Francis) Lamer of Wausau; Richard Thomas Richard Thomas, 55, Menasha, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at home. Rick was bora Oct.

21, 1948, to Richard and Laurine (Dirkman) Thomas in Wausau. He married the former Jane Haese at St. Mary's in Greenleaf in 1973. Rick graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, earning a degree in finance. He spent his entire professional career working for the State of Wisconsin as a financial institution examiner.

Rick dedicated his life to his family and the growth and development of children. He had a pleasant way with children for all to appreciate. Rick also enjoyed being on the road crew for Center Stage Productions and following his children wherever they went He is survived by his Jane Thomas; his four children, Holly Thomas of Colorado, Dawn Thomas of Chicago, Angela Thomas at home, and Jacob Thomas of Milwaukee; his mother, Laurine Thomas of Wausau; a brother, Mark Thomas; and two sisters, Ginny (Bruce) Schalow and Marcia (Paul) Thomas, Trentelman. He will also be missed by a mother-in-law, Helen Haese; a sister-in-law, Mary Lawrence; seven brothers-in-law, Dick Haese, Carl (Carol) Haese, Bill (Debra) Haese, Dave (Mary) Haese, Jim (Esther) Haese, Dan (Kim) Haese and Dale Haese; a close friend, Gordy Feltz and his family; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was pre- ceded in death by his father, Richard Thomas; a brother, Michael Thomas; and his father-in-law, Alfred Haese.

The funeral service was held Nov. 21, 2003, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, W5831 Highway KK, Darboy, w.ith the Rev. Tom Pomeroy officiating. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna, is assisting the family 920-766-2099. In Ueu of flowers, a memorial is being established.

EdnaFriman Edna Friman, 82, Merrill, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Fred Friman, Merrill; two brothers, Bernard Bollereyand Edwin Bollerey, both of the town of Scott; two sisters, Marion (Edward) Martell, Merrill, and Helen Bollerey, town of Scott; one sister-in-law, Aurelia Bollerey, Hartford; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, until the time of services at the funeral home.

Michigan, Peggy Kohl (Carl Bilda) of Shakopee, Mary (Dale Thornsjo) Kohl of Edina, and Ellen Kohl O'Malley (John O'Malley) of Wausau; and one granddaughter, Kelly Erin O'Malley; two brothers-in-law, James (Betty) Schlatterer, Mosinee, and William (Rose) Sclatterer, Old Orchard Beach, Maine; one aunt, Evelyn Sanders of Wausau; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Estelle Kohl. Memorial services for family and friends will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at the Wausau Club, 309 McClellan St.

The Rev. Fred. A. Kulovits will officiate. Friends and family may call at the Wausau Club from 10:30 a.m.

until the time of services. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, in Hillsboro with the Rev.

Wayne Kidd officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery, Union township. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003 from 9 a.m.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roger Benzinger; one nephew, Darren Laskot; and his father-in-law, Helmuth Wendt. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, town of Hamburg.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill and will begin again at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at the church. at Fort Benning ranges from probation to up to six months in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Harbor House in Rib Mountain. She was born on June 25, 1917 the daughter of Carl and Hattie (Hunsicker) Rosentreter in Wausau Gladys married Walter B. Manicke Gladys Manicke on Sept. 28, 1935, in Wausau. He preceded her in death in 1989.

She worked at. the Wausau Hospital in administration. Gladys was always very active in her children's lives. She always encouraged her children to do their best, vowing to always get her high school diploma, which she received in 1960, 26 years after she first left high school. Gladys started the first PTA in the town of Maine, she recorded books for the blind, she was a girl scout leader, she was a 4-H leader and a devoted volunteer for the Salvation Army, both for over 20 years, and she also volunteered at nursing homes.

Gladys loved to read, sew, fish, travel, and spend time with her family. Survivors include, two daughters, Shirley (Anthony) Burish, of Warsaw, and Lynn (John) Lensmire, of Marathon; a son, Michael (Bonnie) Manicke, of Waterford, a son-in-law, Lyle Weden, of Wausau; 14 grandchildren, Gary (Patti) Weden, Neal (Chris) Weden, Wendy Wilde, Craig (Crystal) Weden, Jennifer (Doug) Nelson, Scott (Tammi) Burish, Stephanie (Jeremy) Slone, Tim (Ruth) Lensmire, Sue Stephens, Jeff (Gail) Lensmire, Amber (Ken) Fromfeld, Summer (Rex) Youngs, Ty (Carrie) Manicke and Jamie Manicke; 20 greatgrandchildren, Steven, Kurt, Andrew, Beth, Ben, Isaac, Christopher, Blake, Lauren, Jacob, Ayla, Kilee, John, Sarah, Mandy, Kyle, Grace, Megan, Andrew, and Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, a daughter, Karen Weden, and a granddaughter, Heidi Lensmire. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov.

25, 2003, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wausau. The Rev. Donald E. Baumann will officiate.

"Benny" Benzinger, 64, Merrill, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Saint Joseph's Palliative Care Unit, Marshfield. He was born Dec.

31, 1938, in Merrill to the late Harry "Harlo" and LuEllen "Enzie" (Litke) Benzinger. He married Bonnie Wendt on april 11, 1964. She survives. He was employed at Wausau Papers for 392 years until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed sports, hunting and cooking maple syrup.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie Benzinger, Merrill; two sons, Ron L. Benzinger and Thomas A. Benzinger, both of Merrill; two sisters, Marlene Benzinger (Terry Frisch) and said Eric LeCompte, the demonstration's organizing coordinator. 20, 2003, at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. Nancy was born May 10, 1930, in Chicago, to the late Milo and Ruth (Parker) Rowland. Nancy Salzman She married Ken Salzman Sr. on Oct. 9, 1948.

Nancy and Ken started Salzman Roofing and Siding Co. Nancy was also a homemaker and a dispatcher for GTE before retiring. Nancy was an avid reader, loved baseball and John Wayne movies. Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Opichka, Mosinee, Karen (Daniel) Thompson Sr. and Kim (Don) Hildebrandt, The Associated Press COLUMBUS, Ga.

Some 10,000 demonstrators chanted and waved signs Sunday outside the Army's Fort Benning in their annual protest against a military school for Latin American soldiers on the base.
